Many edible products are very sensitive – liqueur-filled chocolate Easter eggs, for example. It would be too expensive to wrap them in foil by hand. That's where the packaging machines of Cologne-based company Rasch come in. The family firm has been making specialized machines for the past 50 years. It has 80 employees. Half of its machines are produced for export. They're sold to French cheese makers and companies in Egypt, South America and Australia. Rasch’s food industry customers are helping the company survive the economic downturn. A report by Marion Hütter.
